Feb 22 (Reuters) - U.S. President Donald Trump is curious as to why Iran has not yet “capitulated” and agreed to curb its nuclear programme, as Washington builds up its military capability in the Middle East, Trump’s special envoy Steve Witkoff said.
Steve Witkoff, President Trump's Middle East envoy negotiating with Iran, told FNC's Lara Trump in an interview this weekend that the president is "frustrated" that Iran hasn't "capitulated" in the face of a massive military buildup in the region.
Hegseth said the ceasefire with Iran "certainly holds" for now after a naval clash between Iranian and U.S. forces and renewed attacks on the UAE.
