One of the best hikes of October was to the Fife Brook Overlook at Bear Swamp Reservoir in Rowe. Just under one mile this trail goes along the steep wooded edge of the mountain and winds through bus sized boulders to a bouldering climb 400 ft up to a cobble like perch across the river from Raycroft Overlook with 360 epic views that will take your breath away! We started at the Bear Swamp kiosk on old Tunnel Road, road not passable in winter by car adds 5 miles on foot. Western Mass Hilltown Hike
