I arrived in Germany in 2015 with dreams, and the hope of building a better future. But reality felt very different. Because of the language barrier, I couldn’t work in my career. I started working in a Kita instead, while trying to rebuild my life from zero. Then came the weather. The endless grey skies, the cold, the darkness that seemed to last forever. At first I thought I was just homesick, but over time I realized how deeply it was affecting my mental health. And then COVID happened. The i
