The Cinematic Minds on Instagram: "Barbara Holland’s death in Stranger Things Season 1 was never meant to be forgotten — and fans made sure of it. Barb was killed by the Demogorgon and left behind in the Upside Down, and the lack of justice sparked the viral movement #JusticeForBarb. The backlash was so strong that the Duffer Brothers later admitted they regretted how quickly her death was brushed aside — and they even gave her an on-screen funeral and closure in Season 2 because of fan outrage.
